IDUNIQ sells ashwagandha supplements in two lines, one for men and one for women. The brand is in Italy, the studio is in Barcelona, and we never met once.

That tends to worry people. In practice, what decides whether it works isn’t the distance: it’s whether anyone thought the project through before it started.

Here they had. The brief described fifteen setups one by one, Amazon listing set included. With a document like that, the decisions are already made by the time the first light goes on.

Everything else was unplanned.

The product got stuck at customs

Manufacturing ran late first. Then customs held the box, because there were vitamins inside.

The client sent a second box with the empty packaging so we could start on something. Both ended up arriving on practically the same day.

The models were found during that wait, so when the product finally reached the studio there was no lost time to make up by rushing.

If you sell supplements from outside Spain, this is the part to account for when you set a launch date. The shoot is never the bottleneck.

The model turned up a different colour

The client had approved her from casting photos, where she was a redhead. She arrived brunette: she’d changed her hair and hadn’t said.

Cancelling meant recasting, rebooking the crew and moving delivery by weeks, with the product already here. We shot anyway, and the colour was put back by hand in retouching.

It worked out, but it was a cheap lesson in something that now gets said upfront: if the casting depends on one specific feature, say so out loud.

The interior the studio doesn’t have

The brief asked for a few setups in a home environment. The studio has no interiors, and that was said at the planning stage, not on delivery.

There were two routes: rent a location, with what that adds to budget and schedule, or replace the background with generation. The client chose the second.

That’s how it was done. The product and the models are real; the background of those particular frames isn’t. The hair colour change, by contrast, is manual retouching. The tool gets picked to fit the problem.

How it ended

Fifty images in the two formats the brand asked for, two weeks from the product entering the studio.

The product gave no trouble at all. What had to be managed was everything around it, which is nearly always where the real work is.
