A natural cosmetics brand doesn’t sell a bottle — it sells where the contents came from. Moss, bark, resin, herbs. That doesn’t get resolved with a neutral background and a shot list: it has to be built.
How it was prepared
Mood boards and a shot list agreed with the brand before a camera came out, so the visual direction was settled rather than decided on the day.
Sourcing and buying props: wood, glass, stone, vegetation. Each product’s environment was assembled piece by piece.
Location and studio set-up with the backgrounds and set areas the concept required.
What had to be right
The green of the packaging true across very different environments. On moss, on bark and on a light background it has to stay the same green.
Oil in motion: the pour is the frame that proves the texture, and it only pours well once.
Glass and amber with light built for them, so the bottle doesn’t disappear against a dark background.
Macro of the product and the dropper, where the real consistency shows.
What we shot
- Two shooting days: campaign still life, macro, product in a natural environment, and video.
- Five days of post-production, with the selection reviewed alongside the client before retouching.
- A short product video, shot in the same session on the same lighting set-up.
What the brand got
Campaign images, macro, environment and video for Instagram and for the website, in one visual language. A world per product, not a product on a background.
